Professional Skincare Tips to use at Home
A good skincare routine shouldn’t be left to the women in our lives. In fact, male skin is naturally rougher and less sensitive to facial cleansers and moisturisers than our female counterparts, making it all the more reason to have an effective daily regime. While you may believe there is no time, or even no need for skincare in your day-to-day life, we’d like to convince you otherwise. The foundations for an effective routine can be built on as little as two or three inexpensive products; how you use the products is what yields results.
Step One- Preparation
Preparing your skin is an essential step in ensuring your products work to the best of their ability, and it only has to take 30 seconds. Splash your face with warm water or hold a warm flannel to your skin to open your pores, allow deep-down impurities to come out, and nutrients from your products to filter in.
Step Two- Cleanse
The next step is gently massaging a pea-size amount of our Daily Facial Cleanserinto your skin in circular motions. Avoid pulling and tugging at your skin, as this can be counter-intuitive and actually cause your skin to age faster in the long run. Our cream based cleanser contains grape, lavender and sunflower essential oils that brighten and refresh dull skin, ready for the day ahead. To achieve maximum results from your cleanser, repeat this step both morning and night to prevent any oils and bacteria from sitting on your skin and clogging your pores.
After, gently remove the cleanser with a warm, damp muslin cloth and finish by splashing your face with cold water to close the pores.
Step Three- Exfoliate
Your skin should be exfoliated to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores dulling your complexion, however this step should only be repeated once or twice a week. Any more than this, and you risk drying out your skin. Our No.10 Cleansing Scrub is enriched with Willow Bark and Borage Oil to stimulate skin-cell renewal with gentle exfoliation, as well as caring for your skin through a gentle cleanse and tone. Regular exfoliation also prepares your skin for shaving; read our tips for a perfect shave, here.
Step Four- Moisturise
Moisturising the skin after cleansing comes with an abundance of benefits, including keeping the skin hydrated and prevention of any signs of ageing and excess oil production. Take a small amount of our Advanced Facial Moisturiser and massage into the skin, taking extra care to moisturise around delicate areas such as the eyes and forehead. Our moisturiser is suitable for all skin types and contains the naturally occurring antioxidant, Q-10, which prevents collagen damage and promotes the elastic production process needed to reduce wrinkles. We love that it also has ‘Helioguard 365’ which works to prevent cell damage from the sun- an important factor for reducing signs of ageing.
Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated and time consuming. With only three products, you can create a strong regime with effective results; the key is in the consistency. Cleanse and moisturise twice a day, and exfoliate once a week to give your skin an extra boost. Just spending a little more time and effort on your skin can really prevent signs of ageing and maintain a youthful complexion.
